Powerskow Alaskan Salmon Tender

by Joe Gustafson
(Grayland, Washington )

This model is based on an Alaskan Salmon Tender. It is completely scratch built except for the brass hardware and a few things that I purchased from Harbor models. Bass wood was used in its construction. No plans are available to my knowledge so pictures and the fact that I worked on one was all I had to go with. They are used for packing salmon to the processing plant from the fishing grounds all over parts of Alaska.

Raven power scow
by: Don K.

Great job!

I'm scratch building the F/V Tempest which I ran as a herring/salmon tender in the 1980s. Prior to that I ran the NakNek, a power scow. It will be my next project.

I'd love to exchange photos and thoughts. I also did dozens of marine paintings in the off seasons. My website is www.donkotts.com.

Hope to hear from you,
Don...

Atiny word on photos
by: Jim Olson

I almost hate to say this in the face of such superb work, but here goes. When taking pictures, something as simple as a white sheet to cover the background clutter will make this one of a kind beauty jump right out of the screen, and highlight all those details you spent so much time on. Congrats on a job well done.

Wow!

This boat is a stunner. Terrific job! All we need now is to place a few student summer worker figurines working (or sobbing) on deck (LOL). Nice!
