THE SANTA MARIA

by Vincent
(San Jose, CA)

This is one of the three ships Columbus used for sailing to the New World (the Nina, the Pinta and Santa Maria) in 1492 landing in what he named "Hispaniola" but is modern day Haiti. He also gave indigenous people the name Indians because he thought he was in India but enough about that greedy, collisional, and brutal slave master...lol. I'm proud of some of the work I did on this boat but I must confess I've been living in motels and in my car for a few years so I rush through the building of boats and throw them away just as fast because I got nowhere to put them. I used wood stain for the first time and also tried out the hot glue gun. Gorilla glue sticks are the best. I hope someone enjoys this
